KARDIO KAYAK BEGINNER LEVEL
The focus of the beginner level class is learning proper paddling techniques and getting comfortable with the kayak. It includes an introduction to stretching appropriate to kayaking. This is a fun, relaxing and more social class great to familiarize yourself with the sport of kayaking!
The exercise component will be mostly building paddling endurance, and exercises to assist learning forward stroke, sweep stroke, bow and stern rudder, reverse paddling, all the while working on focus and balance. You will be a more confident paddler at the end of 8 sessions.

KARDIO KAYAK INTERMEDIATE LEVEL
Building on the skills developed in the beginner class, we’ll push your cardiovascular system to the next level!
Now that you have the confidence and balance to do more in your kayak, we will switch gears to introduce straightforward endurance paddling at a higher intensity, sprinting and interval training. This class will allow you to refine the skills you learned in the beginner class working towards execution of a “proper forward stroke”! Co-owner Tanya Sullivan, a Certified Athletic Therapist will work individually with you during this class to identify your strengths and weaknesses making you a more efficient paddler.
This class is aimed at those individuals wanting to develop their cardiovascular fitness and at a minimum each participant should be able to prove a minimum proficiency in paddling and endurance. Continued participation will be at the discretion of the instructor. Please e-mail for details, or to determine if this class is suitable for you.
The Advanced Class will be 90 minutes long to allow enough time to enhance the caloric burn, and work on endurance exercises.

KARDIO KAYAK ADVANCED LEVEL
Building yet upon another class, this advanced class encourages you to “step up to the plate”! ( Ya I know...wrong sport). It is strongly recommended that you be a proficient paddler for this class and be able to paddle with good endurance. Tanya has designed this class to challenge your level of physical fitness as we explore Fartlek (anaerobic) training and build upon intervals. We will monitor our heart rates and aim for 75 - 85% maximum. A heart rate monitor or watch is recommended but not necessary. Classes are 1.5 hours in length with warm up and cool down drills. Remember extra water for this one! By the way all you males, where are you?

KARDIO KAYAK FALL CLASSES
Our Fall version of this class is loads of fun as the weather cools and the sun sets earlier in the evenings.
This class is the perfect way to close the season.
Suitable for all skill levels, the fall classes are less structured, allowing each participant to work more or less at their own pace. More comfortable, confident paddlers can work ahead on their own, while new paddlers will have the attention and assistance of the instructor
