Caledonia to Cayuga
This stretch of the Grand River is quiet and serene with little more than fisherman looking for a catch! The first half of the trip is shorter, in calmer water, with the second half challenging our core, with small ripples of waves even a novice can do!
This tour is ideal in the spring when water levels are higher, and may not be suitable later in the season when it may be necessary to “walk” our kayaks to get through shallow water. We depart at Kinsmen Park in Caledonia around 11:00 am, with a stop in York around noon for a lunch, then continue on to Bob Baigent Park in Cayuga to conclude around 3:00 PM.
Most Mondays, May 3rd to July 5th Sunday May 23 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM Please check our calendar for specific dates. Cost : $90.00 per person, plus GST Length : 4.0 - 5.0 hours, 16 km

Cayuga to Dunnville
If you are looking for a full day of paddling, this is your tour!
This trip can be challenging, simply due to its length. The current is slow through this wide stretch of the Grand, the wind can slow you down, and your paddle will provide most of the momentum. We will break the trip into two sections with a stop for lunch, but there are no river access points between our put-in at Cayuga and our destination in Dunnville.
This trip is the most “bang for your buck” if you can handle it! Only those individuals who can sit for up to 5 hours and have good upper body strength and endurance should consider this trip, especially in the heat of the summer. Remember for this trip it is imperative to pack sunscreen, a hat, EXTRA water ( 1.5-2 litres minimum ), lunch and snacks!
Sunday May 16, June 6, September 26 Monday July 12, August 9 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM Cost : $80.00 per person, plus GST Length : 6 - 7 hours, 21 kms

Dunnville to Port Maitland
Explore the Dunnville Marshes south of the dam, following the route from Dunnville to the mouth of the Grand River where it empties into Lake Erie. The river continues to widen as it meanders south, past marinas and the sites of former boating and shipping businesses, recalling the area’s historical significance from a time when the original Welland Canal ran through and the Grand River was an important shipping lane.
Keep an eye out for skydivers overhead, and boat traffic traveling between the marinas along this stretch of the river to the lake. The tour starts at Grand River Kayak and transportation will be provided from Port Maitland back to our location at the end of the trip.
Fridays June 4th until September 3rd Please check our calendar for specific dates. 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Cost : $50.00 per person, plus GST Length : 3 hours, 10 kms

Lower Grand River Marshes
It was the unanimous opinion of 2009 season paddlers that this tour was a “must do”! During a leisurely paddle of 1.5 hours, you may encounter blue heron, egrets, kingfishers, beavers, deer, various falcons, and many fish to name a few. Who knows, you might even spot the World Famous Grand River Mudcat ! A nesting pair of American Bald Eagles has recently moved into the area.
Paddle directly from Grand River Kayak, under a bridge and around the “Grand Island Bar-B-Q” into an expansive wetland. Also included is a paddle to the base of the dam. Remember to bring your camera !
