A good paddle stroke starts at the feet! The power then transmits up through your legs, butt, and abdominal region, through your torso, and finally to the paddle shaft. Learning a proper forward stroke with good torso rotation is an ideal abdominal workout.

The health and fitness benefits derived from kayaking include:
-overall body toning
-weight loss
-strength
-flexibility
-stress reduction

To move a kayak at about 5 mph is going to require about 0.1 hp of effort, and  that is going to use up about 400 calories per hour. Kayaking is total body fitness!

YOU BRING
-Comfortable Clothes, season appropriate
-Footwear (this may get wet)
-Bottled water
-Sunglasses with optional strap
-Hat
-Sunscreen/ bug spray
-A desire to burn some calories while enjoying the outdoors!

WE SUPPLY
-Kayak, paddle, PFD, safety kit
-Additional safety equipment : tow system, paddle float, spare paddle, First Aid kit
