General Terms and Policies for Services

Below you will find Grand River Kayak's General Terms and Policies, as they apply specifically to the Services we provide, namely Guided Tours, Paddling Lessons, Rentals and Facility Use.

Please take the time to read these terms and policies, as they will outline our rights and obligations as a service provider, as well as your rights and responsibilities as a customer.

FORMS Forms are no longer available to download and print at home. Blank copies are available at Grand River Kayak, or you can request to have the forms e-mailed to you once you have made a reservation, if you prefer. Please allow sufficient time to fill out the forms prior to the start of your program. Please note that all forms must be completed in full. Please be courteous to others and plan to start on time.
***Please read all forms carefully, in particular the Liability Waiver Form, as it affects your rights as a participant in any services Grand River Kayak provides.***

WASHROOM FACILITIES Please note that we have "portable" washroom facilities (aka port-a-potty) on site seasonally between May 1st and October 1st. These facilities are clean and well maintained. During the winter months, we do not have washroom facilities available. Should you be visiting between May 1st and October 1st (approximately), if portable washroom facilities are not to your liking, we recommend using an alternative washroom prior to your arrival at Grand River Kayak. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our visitors.

GENERAL POLICIES Please note that any rental equipment being returned outside of regular business hours is done at YOUR OWN RISK. Parking is available AT YOUR OWN RISK. Wearing a PFD at all times while on or near the water is required while using our equipment during tours, lessons or rentals. Customer safety is our #1 priority. If you do not wish to wear a PFD, you will be asked to not paddle with us. Thank you for your understanding of this vitally important safety feature, which we insist upon for the protection of our clients, our staff, and rescue services. If you are launching your own kayak or canoe, remember that you are responsible for all your own legal safety equipment and Grand River Kayak will not be held responsible for injuries, death or charges laid by the OPP. If you are providing any gear for your rental ( ie PFD. ) you are required to have the required safety gear as well. A whistle is a legal requirement on a PFD. Whistles are available to purchase. We no longer loan out whistles.
