2016 DATES : May 26, June 2, 16, 30
TIME : 10:00am to 3:00pm (includes driving time)
APPROX. DISTANCE : 17 km
This stretch of the Grand River is quiet and serene with little more than fisherman looking for a catch!
The first half of the trip is shorter, in calmer water, with the second half challenging our core, with small ripples of waves even a novice can do!
Not to be confused with another outfitter's tour called the "Cayuga Run", this tour departs just downriver from the town of Caledonia in Haldimand County, stops in the village of York for lunch, passes by the Ruthven Park National Historic Site, and finishes in the town of Cayuga. This is nearly the identical route for the Day of 1000 Canoes event which takes place each year in June.
This tour is ideal in the spring and early summer when water levels are higher, and may not be suitable later in the season when it may be necessary to walk our kayaks to get through shallow water.
Typically, customers will meet us at our location in Dunnville. However, depending on where you are driving in from, it may be possible to meet and park your vehicle in Cayuga. Parking is limited at the present time due to ongoing construction of the bridge at Cayuga, so please discuss this option with us.
*This Guided Tour is limited to groups of eight paddlers or less.*
Our Guided Tour fees always include all of your equipment, the services of a professional and friendly guide, and any shuttles that may be required.
Ask us about options to purchase a bagged lunch to bring along on this trip for an extra $10.00
**PLEASE NOTE – Due to ongoing construction of the bridge in Cayuga, PLEASE contact us prior to booking this particular tour. It may be necessary to put this tour on hiatus for the 2015 Season.
