2016 DATES : July 14, 28, August 4, September 1
TIME : 11:00am to 2:00pm
APPROX. DISTANCE : 12 km
This guided sea kayak tour starts at the Port Maitland pier, where the Grand River meets Lake Erie, and finishes as James N Allan Provincial Park.
A beautiful shoreline paddle of Lake Erie’s north coast, this paddle is recommended for Intermediate to Advanced paddlers only. On calm days, Lake Erie can be quite placid and suitable for beginners, but we can't always guarantee that even if the Lake starts out flat and calm, that it will stay that way.
As such, we recommend paddlers be comfortable and familiar with the use of sea kayaks and sprayskirts.
This tour starts near the lighthouse at Port Maitland and travels west along Lake Erie's North shore. James N. Allan Provincial Park is a non-operating day-use Provincial park on Lake Erie.lighthouse at Port Maitland. Waterfront homes and cottages dot the shoreline most of the way.
This tour follows the shoreline, providing continuous, easy landings along the route. However, this tour will only run when weather conditions are appropriate. It is generally a safe trip, in reasonably shallow water, but a stiff SW wind can create extremely wavy conditions.
Grand River Kayak reserves the right to modify the route of this trip, or cancel it at any time due to safety or weather concerns.
Our Guided Tour fees always include all of your equipment, the services of a professional and friendly guide, and any shuttles that may be required.
Ask us about options to purchase a bagged lunch to bring along on this trip for an extra $10.00
