Monday, August 28th will be held as a "make up day" in case of cancellations.

NEW FOR 2017 -  If you own your own board & gear, and would like to join the SUP Yoga classes, individual classes will be $15.00 each on a "drop in basis".**

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you have undoubtedly heard about this new fitness craze that hit the waves over the last couple of summers.
In 2013 we ran our first season of SUPyoga and we've been having a blast ever since!

Back again by popular demand this season….SUPyoga!

No experience is necessary to participate, so don’t get anxious. As a matter of fact, you will fall off your board and into the water…..at first anyway. And that’s a good thing to get out of the way because once you do, you instantly start to relax and you will see an immediate change in your ability to get into a pose and hold it!

And what better venue than this outdoor yoga studio to help you relax and connect with nature while you work on your flexibility and core strength!

SUP yoga is just like traditional yoga but it’s done using a board on the water instead of a mat in the studio. The paddle is used to help you move around easily and sometimes it’s used during class as a prop for stretching and lengthening the spine. Some of the poses that are included in our classes are sun salutations, standing postures, back bends like cobra and bridge, boat pose, tree pose, warrior 1, 2 & 3, to name a few.

We provide: Stand Up Paddleboard, paddle, leash, PFD
You bring: Clothes suitable for yoga and water immersion, spare set of dry clothes, towel, sunscreen, water for consumption.

I have wanted to try the SUP Board for a few years now but I am a very clumsy person who has no balance. I fall so much that I know how to fall with minimal injury! This and the fact that I could not find anyone close by who gave lessons. So last spring when I saw that Grand River Kayak offering SUP & Yoga classes I was excited to sign up right away! Our Paddling Lesson fees always include all of the required equipment and the services of a qualified, professional and friendly instructor. If you wish to provide your own SUP board or gear, please discuss this with us in advance. We encourage students to learn using their own equipment, but occasionally your SUP or gear may not be appropriate for the intended lesson.
Please note that we do not provide a discount on any lessons shorter than a full day in length (Paddle Canada lessons) for providing your own gear.

**Should the class not meet the minimum required participants to run, "drop in classes" will be cancelled. 
PLEASE NOTE - If you are planning to attend on a "drop in" basis and we don't know to expect you on any given night, you will not be included on any communication regarding class changes or weather cancellations. Thanks.
